HERE COME THE TRAINS! - Part 1

I have so much to show you for this quilt, I figured I would break up the posts.  First, let me show you all the train stitcheries!

There are 16 panels altogether worked on 12 x 12 inch squares.  The largest one is the train station and the second largest is the train coming out of the tunnel.  The rest are much smaller with room to trim them down.  I'm thinking I won't be able to use them all in one quilt, so there are enough for two and possibly three quilts (twin size) if I add a few more pictures.  I was thinking the two train stations and one more signal.  Three twin size quilts would be really great as I have 3 grandsons now and they are growing like weeds (and growing out of their Playful Puppies quilts).

I have some marvelous fabrics to play with and I will post them tomorrow.  I think I should keep the 12 inch block size but there is a lot that can be done within each block.

You're all gonna help me, right?

Love from Liri

  4. "I hear the train a comin';
    It's rolling round the bend,
    And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't remember when!"
    You had to be singing that Johnny Cash song for a long time to have embroidered so many great trains! Those boys are going to love you! ---"Love"

  5. Your stitchery is beautiful! I expecially like the train coming out of the tunnel. I can't wait to see the fabrics you plan to use and how these come together. These will be great quilts for your grandson's as they grow. Of course we will help with comments!

  6. Your embroidery is lovely- is it your own design? I do digitized embroidery, my handwork is not of your high quality- but I do love and appreciate hand embroidery
