There are 16 panels altogether worked on 12 x 12 inch squares. The largest one is the train station and the second largest is the train coming out of the tunnel. The rest are much smaller with room to trim them down. I'm thinking I won't be able to use them all in one quilt, so there are enough for two and possibly three quilts (twin size) if I add a few more pictures. I was thinking the two train stations and one more signal. Three twin size quilts would be really great as I have 3 grandsons now and they are growing like weeds (and growing out of their Playful Puppies quilts).
I have some marvelous fabrics to play with and I will post them tomorrow. I think I should keep the 12 inch block size but there is a lot that can be done within each block.
You're all gonna help me, right?
Love from Liri
I'm impressed! Those are fantastic. I can only imagine what part two is going to be...
ReplyDeleteThose are just fabulous. I can' wait to see what fabric you will put with them. I so love your handwork. Connie204
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh -- I see it all but I don't believe it. I've decided that you must not sleep (or eat). Those blocks are amazing!!!

"I hear the train a comin';
ReplyDeleteIt's rolling round the bend,
And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't remember when!"
You had to be singing that Johnny Cash song for a long time to have embroidered so many great trains! Those boys are going to love you! ---"Love"
Your stitchery is beautiful! I expecially like the train coming out of the tunnel. I can't wait to see the fabrics you plan to use and how these come together. These will be great quilts for your grandson's as they grow. Of course we will help with comments!
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is lovely- is it your own design? I do digitized embroidery, my handwork is not of your high quality- but I do love and appreciate hand embroidery
ReplyDeleteOh, these are just too fun! You're going to have some really great quilts for your grandsons when these are all put together. Can't wait to see what fabrics you'll be pairing the embroideries with.
ReplyDeleteThis is some great work! I, too, don't believe you sleep or eat;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
That is a wonderful idea for 3 grandsons! I need to do some advance planning for my grandkids too.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is wonderful. I love all the trains, glad I don't have to pick a favorite. These trains will make wonderful quilts.
