First off, 3 vest, blouse and capris sets. The two blue sets are made of corduroy and the purple outfit is wool.
Three day dresses with matching shaws. These were made from scraps I had left from making dresses for myself when in my early 20's. (Sigh)
Three party dresses. Again from the same dress scraps as above.
Four evening gowns. I've always been a sucker for luxurious/fancy fabrics!
Three nightgown and negligee sets. Yeah, these are scraps from party dresses I made for me, LOL.
Two bridesmaids dresses. The second gown is white and lavendar.
And two bridal gowns. One white and one ivory. The bridesmaids dresses were made to match.
No, I didn't make the veils. Little girls like to make things for their Barbies. Veils are easy (besides, I couldn't stand working on them any more). Thank goodness I didn't cut out three, LOL.
So there you have it. It feels so good to have completed these and put the patterns away. I do hope my niece's little girl will like them.
Love from Liri
awww I am sure your nieces little girl will love them...
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great aunty you are. All that work. Barbie looks fabulous - she has amazing 1980's hair.
ReplyDeleteYou must have the patience of a saint to have accomplished all that. I tried to sew doll clothes once. Doll clothes - you know, lots bigger than Barbie clothes? And I gave up halfway through the first top. I hope the little girl who gets these realizes how much work you've put into them and enjoys them too!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who could do all that must have had intense lessons on patience at the feet of Job! Every outfit is beautiful! All I can say is, it's a good thing I didn't have any girls!!! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteBarbie's clothes are gorgeous and I'm sure your niece's girls will love them. The more clothes the better was my daughter's idea on doll clothes. You did a great job making them!
ReplyDeleteThe clothes are beautiful. What a lucky little girl.
ReplyDeleteSandy
The clothes are adorable! I have one question, though. Why does she need 2 wedding dresses? Is there a divorce in the future for Barbie?
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job outfitting Barbie. I love the dress and shawl outfits. The weding gowns are so pretty. Glad that my girls are big and don't do Barbies anymore.. I make Cabbage patch doll clothes and American Girl clothes. I prefer sewing big pieces.
ReplyDeleteLiri, you should be very proud of all of these outfits , wow , I think they are incredible and I know your niece's daughter will be thrilled .
ReplyDeleteOh my Liri! All those tiny pieces and seams! The clothes all look wonderful. There is one lucky little girl out there. I'm with Katie, I tried doll clothes once and didn't enjoy the experience. I'd never contemplate Barbie size!
ReplyDeleteOkay, maybe this comment thing will work this time;) Love the barbie clothes! My mom used to make them for me when I was little. When it came time for me to make them myself, barbie went naked!! No patience for it;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
Liri, you have brought back so many memories for me. I used to sew barbie clothes all the time and sell them at the market. I did it because I loved it - never got my money back as you can imagine!!! Wish I had been blogging then with photos!!
ReplyDeleteThey look like every little girls dream for Barbies wardrobe. Lovely - I am sure your niece will be entertained for hours. Hope worlds most annoying Barbie is loved in her new home too.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh...these are really cute outfits for the Barbies...leeetle clothes like this take lots of time/work. You are great to have made so many!
ReplyDeleteEEE-GADS....this takes me back....eee-yons of years!! I used to make them for my Barbies...not quite as good as these (I was 8-10yrs old)
