When I got the package home and started sorting through, I found it was actually a double wedding ring quilt that someone had started.
There is one corner complete.
The baggies hold pieces that were already cut and some have even been joined. All the fabrics are there for more pieces. Some of the white is already cut and there are a few units already completed along with more white fabric. The quilting design has also been drawn on the white centers of the circles. They just don't show up in the photos.
I thought I might finish this myself, but I find double wedding ring to be a bit intimidating at this point in time. I can't see this languishing in my "projects to finish" box for another ten years before I feel confident to tackle it. And I have been finishing projects from that box this month. I will be posting them soon.
So, I would like to send everything to someone who will finish it or use it in a border or something. Any takers? Leave me a comment and I will draw a number in about a week.
Love from Liri
Seems your mind is made up. A double wedding ring was one of the first quilts I made. I used a pattern book from Mary Ellen Hopkins. Her templates cut perfect shapes and she explained everything from cutting to pressing in detail. It is really not a difficult quilt seeing that the curves are gentle-if the templates is correct! It is in the colors you love- so you have nothing to loose= try it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be the recipient - thanks for the chance to finish someone else's heart treasure as the colors are just beautiful
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely. I have way too many projects myself. I know it will go to a good home.
ReplyDeleteIt would make you a beautiful quilt; I'd like to see you keep it, maybe someday for that cute granddaughter of yours. I already have a double wedding ring top that my aunt never quilted, as well as one she finished! So I certainly do not need yours; but it has great potential of becoming a real treasure! Put your name in the pot instead of mine, and when the winner is drawn, if it is your name, you will know it was meant to be! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI agree with Marie , give it a try before giving it away , it is very pretty in the blue and yellow colors .
ReplyDeleteI agree with Love. Draw your own name. What a story you will be able to tell your grandchildren in the years to come.

Hope this goes to a good home. It is really beautiful and I love the colour scheme. I won't go in the draw because I have so many unfinished projects myself but I'm sure who ever receives it will love it.
ReplyDeleteHello Liri,
ReplyDeleteI would love to go in the draw to complete this. I have just finished a double wedding ring quilt that was bought in a op-shop. Please check out my blog to see it.
Happy days.
OOOhh id have a go at it, Ive wanted to do one for a while and have lots fo upcoming weddings this summer!...Karen x
ReplyDeleteIt's very generous of you to give it away to someone. I think you should hang on to it for awhile. What we find intimidating today may not be that way tomorrow. Just give it a start, maybe one block, and see how it goes! You just might surprise yourself and find you love doing it!
