For some reason, some of my blocks are turning out less than perfect - the inside points don't quite meet perfectly or the outside block seams don't match as well as they should. I wouldn't dream of sending those out. So I have decided that, since I want a full-size bed quilt anyway, I am going to keep the less-than-perfect blocks and only send out the mostly perfect ones!
Do you like these?
Liri
Very bright and beautiful! I love the hearts for a border. Many of my points were a struggle too. I usually have trouble, but it seems I had more with the outside points matching up properly when adding borders for this project, which seems like the easier part...
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks, they are so colorful and really fun to look at! If the points are a tiny bit off, I wouldn't worry about them but on the other hand, if they are not up to your personal standards, do what makes you feel comfortable. I know I would only be happy sending out what I would use in my own quilts, so that means pretty close to perfection. My expectations of my own work are way higher than what others think about my blocks. I see tiny imperfections, they see pretty blocks! So, if you only send the ones that pass your test, they will be great! ! !
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing Liri! They have pizazz! Don't be too critical of your work - I certainly won't be. I've had the odd issue with the points - I think I might be stretching the blocks when I'm pressing them. The finished quilts will be fabulous. Cheers, Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun Liri! Please don't be too self-critical, this is supposed to be a fun swap, not a stress-inducer! I'm afraid you might find a point or two not quite perfect on my blocks, despite my best efforts. -Joanne
ReplyDeleteGreat colors. I love the hearts border. I had problems with my outer edges and losing the points there.
ReplyDeleteYour cheerful blocks would certainly be good enough for me! I think they look great! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry about perfection too much. I agree with Joanne, this is for fun and friendship!
ReplyDeleteI volunteer for imperfect blocks! :) Theri
ReplyDeleteOhhh love those hearts!! Its hard not to be critical of blocks you're sending out (I know I'm having a hard time trying to make the "perfect"), but we all know that they don't always end up that way. I know I don't care if the blocks you send aren't perfect! :) Christine
ReplyDeleteWe are all too critical of our own work. I've finished 6 of the 12" blocks of my scrappy star quilt and asked my husband "wouldn't you think that ONE of them could have turned out perfect?" He rolled his eyes and once again, told me that I was way too hard on myself. Want to start a club? I think all of us have missed a point or two on these blocks, but we're in this for the fun of it. I will gladly take the "not so perfect" blocks! Mary
