These are the projects I would like to get finished this month.

1.  Patriotic Denim

The middle has been done for awhile, but I have been struggling with the borders.  Here it is on my design wall:
I have two more border units to make because I took two out to use in the shams.  The shams have not yet been started.  This will not be quilted with batting due to weight.  I have the backing.  It is for my nephew.

2.  Rita's Water Ice

This mess is Rita's Water Ice.  It is 1/3 quilted (all the verticals are done).  The horizontals and the diagonals need to be finished.  I think I have binding but it is not yet cut.  The shams are done but not quilted.  This is for one of my sisters.

This is what the top looks like in case you forgot.

3.  Handwork

This kit is at least 30 years old.  One small corner was finished and then I put it aside.  I pulled this out before Christmas and started working on it again.  Not sure this will get finished this month because it is so heavily embroidered.  Here is as it stands now.
This is what it will look like when completed.  The picture on the package was taken in reverse.
So, there you have my January projects.  I want to finish all three but I am itching to start some new ones.  So I am thinking I may start the new ones as leaders/enders.

What say you, Katie?  Will this do?

Love from Liri

  1. Is that all you've got? Ha ha ha! If you finish all that, you'll be WAAAY ahead of me! I love the stars for the border on the Patriotic Denim quilt - perfect! And that embroidery is way more than I'd ever take on, but I know you do such beautiful work, it's not only going to be done, but done well. And a leaders and enders project is okay to start, but don't let it take over, right? Good luck with it all!

  2. I'm betting on you this month! But I must say that's a pretty ambitious list, with 8 days already gone! I don't think I could finish any one of them this month. Your nephew is going to love that denim quilt! By the way, I love your pinwheels! Wonder why???? *ha ha* ---"Love"

  3. So glad to see that you are keeping your hands busy again. Beautiful quilts and the needlework is awesome. Twelve more weeks of work and then I can dig into some of my projects, and maybe even get my own blog.

  4. Liri, I love thge border on the denim quilt. The pinwheels are just beautiful. I know you can finish them both. The stitchery is just amazing. I know how much time all those stitches take. You just keep going on it, you will finish. Leaders and enders are ALWAYS ok. LOL.
    Go sew. ;)

  5. That's a fantastic selection of projects. Great border on the denim quilt and of couse, I'm a sucker for pinwheels. Your embroidery is of such a fine standard Liri and the design is as fresh today as it was 30 years ago. I'm very interested in the way you are quilting. ann :-)

  6. Wow! What am ambitious list for one month, but you can do it. I love the card trick blocks and the pinwheels are stunning. Good luck!
