This quilt is called "Summer Breezes" and is loosely based on a quilt titled "Pinwheels in the Breeze".  I say loosely because the original has a lot more white.  These pinwheels are the leftovers from my "Rita's Water Ice".  Some were already sewn and others were cut and ready for stitching.  Its about half way there.

I call this Patriotic Denim.   The cards in the block are patriotic fabrics and the blue is reclaimed denim.  This quilt has been in my head for quite a few years.  Here are close ups of some of the blocks.

Mara was born November 24, 2010 at 3:26 pm.  She weighed in at 8 lbs 8-1/2 ounces and measured 20 inches long.  She still hasn't figured out day/night yet, so she slept the whole time we were there. 
I got some candid shots of the rest of the herd (LOL).

These are 3 of a set of 7 embroideries originally for day-of-the-week tea towels.  I finished 4 sets about two years ago in preparation for a quilt for my grandson, Warren.  Then I found a set of puppies and used those for Warren's quilt.  So these have been sitting around for about two years now.
